OUR MISSION
It is the mission of the Florida Highway Patrol to provide the highest level of safety, service, and security to the people of Florida. This is accomplished through our five departmental goals:

Highway Patrol's Specialized Bureaus
Special Response Team (SRT): Vacant A.
The Florida Highway Patrol's (FHP) Special Response Team (SRT) is an elite unit of highly trained and equipped law enforcement officers who respond to high-risk incidents and situations requiring specialized tactics. This includes situations like barricaded subjects, hostage situations, and high-risk warrant service. They are also equipped to handle hazardous materials, biological hazards, and other potentially dangerous situations.
Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU): Vacant A
'The Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) consists of specially trained troopers designated as felony officers and canine handlers. These troopers are strategically assigned throughout the state to patrol the interstate system and other highways in order to interdict drug couriers and other criminal activity. The CIU assists other federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies in the detection and apprehension of drug traffickers and other criminal offenders that utilize the roadways of Florida. The CIU is an active participant in various enforcement operations coordinated by the Florida Office of Drug Control
Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE): Vacant A.

Within the Florida Highway Patrol resides the Office of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement. The Office of Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) is the Governor’s designated lead agency responsible for commercial vehicle operations in Florida.
